It's not the truth that you know that will make you free, but the truth that you do will make you free. Look at it this way: knowing is obtaining and doing is acting. Here is great scripture reference we can use to help us with knowing and doing.
Faith and Works
"What benefit is it my brothers, if someone would say he has faith, but does not have works? Is that faith able to save him? If a brother or sister would be poorly clothed and is falling short of daily food and if any of you would say to them from you plenty, ' You must now go in peace, be warm and be filled,' but would not give them their bodily needs, what is the benefit? So then faith, if you would not have works, is dead in itself. But someone says, 'You have faith, and I have works. You must now show me your faith without works, and I shall show my faith by means of my works." (Jacob {aka James} 2:14-18 One New Man Bible)
To make it simple, take someone who is thirsty and needs a drink of water. The person knows it's true that the water will quench their thirst, but never drinks the water. They made a statement of faith on what they believe the water could do, but did their faith (alone) keep them from being thirsty?
No. It's when they actually drink the water that makes them free from being thirsty-not their words alone . How many times have you shared valuable information like eating healthy, creating extra income, economic issues, etc to help others get out of their current situation?
They hear how the information can help them and even agree that the information can help them, but they don't ACT on it. Hearing is one thing, but doing what you hear is shows that you believe what was said. People who hear the truth, but don't apply it are the ones with faith and no works. And those who DO what they hear are those who have faith and their faith can be seen by their works.

Faith+Works=Truth
Thought for the day: The statement "The truth will make you free..." only applies when you put action behind that truth. If there is no action, then you simply do not believe.
