LIMITED MINTAGE OF ONLY 6,000! - This 1 oz Silver 2017 Canadian Flowers with Mother-of-Pearl Proof is struck from .9999 fine silver at the Royal Canadian Mint. This piece is one of just 6,000 of its kind.
This is a PERFECT MOTHER'S DAY GIFT or as a gift to a mother any day of the year. Margaret Best designed the reverse, which is dominated by pearl yarrow flowers. Also included are two bees, which are important pollinators of the species. The focal points of this face, though, are the pom-pom type flowers that are crafted by mother-of-pearl. The mother-of-pearl successfully recreates the blooms, which are snow-white. This also does an excellent job of mimicking the illuminating effects of the sun while also bringing out the petals' complexity. Like most other Canadian coins, this one bears Susanna Blunt's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. This coin is labeled both an Ultra Cameo and an Early Release by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). Ultra Cameo indicates that the coin features sharp contrasts between mirrored and frosted areas. Early Release means that NGC received it no more than thirty days after its initial Mint release. NGC also gave the coin their highest grade, Proof 70, which is given only to coins that appear flawless under 5x magnification. This Netherlands 2017 1 oz. Silver Lion Dollar Proof is ideal for collectors with an interest in American and/or monetary history. It is based on the designs of the 1617 Dutch daalder, which many consider to be the first American silver dollar. Struck from .9999 fine silver at the Royal Dutch Mint, this coin is part of a mintage that has been limited to 5,000 pieces. Its relief commemorates the 400th anniversary of the particular issue.
