EXTREMELY LIMITED MINTAGE OF JUST 1,500 WORLDWIDE! The series of Swiss Shooting Festival Thalers has been issued annually since 1984, commemorating the marksmanship event which has been held since the 15th century. The 2019 release celebrates the Festival's host canton of Appenzell, a region located in the northeast of Switzerland. The beautiful 37 mm diameter proof is struck from .900 fine silver. The obverse features a pair of standing bears facing each other, one cradling a tree branch. The bear image is adapted from the Appenzeller coat of arms. The reverse displays a wreath anchored by a pair of crossed rifles, powder horn and bandolier. This 2019 Silver Proof Switzerland Appenzell Shooting Festival Thaler coin was submitted to NGC and was awarded the highly desirable grade of Proof 70. It has also been designated Ultra Cameo for it's exceptional amount of contrast between the proof's textured and mirrored surfaces.  Struck in 2017 at the Royal British Mint, this release of the Silver Britannia marks the 20th anniversary of the highly popular and sought-after silver bullion series.
