Physical silver supply squeeze about to get worse warns Keith Neumeyer

The global pandemic has shut down several mining jurisdictions around the world, taking off a large chunk of silver production, this according to Keith Neumeyer, CEO of First Majestic Silver.

“In 2018, we produced, as a global industry, 855 million ounces of silver. So far, we’ve had Peru come offline, with 145 million ounces, we’ve had Chile come offline with 42 million ounces, we’ve had Argentina come offline with 26.5 million ounces. That’s a total of 213.5 million ounces that has now been shut down,” Neumeyer told Kitco News.

1887 Morgan Silver Dollar From the New York Bank Hoard NGC MS67
Picture
This 1887 Morgan Silver Dollar was given the stunningly gorgeous Mint State 67 (MS67) grade by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) who encapsulated it with a label featuring the coveted New York Bank Hoard pedigree. The NGC population census lists an ultra low 82 specimens in this grade as of January 2019 featuring this exclusive pedigree. The Morgan Dollar contains .7734 oz of silver bullion struck on a .900 pure silver planchet. This example was struck at the nation's primary coinage facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

MS67 coins are excellent examples with full mint luster and an excellent strike. Morgans are tough to get in this exemplary grade. This one sat undisturbed in a bank vault in lower Manhattan since 1964. The sought after coins of the New York Bank Hoard were sealed in their original U.S. Treasury canvas bags upon minting and remained untouched until 2018.

Do You Understand?

3/16/2020

There is a difference when purchasing a Silver or Gold ETF versus having the physical bullion. To make it simple: Silver/Gold ETF's shows that you have an interest in the physical, but don't actually own it.

If there are a 1,000 investors with the same piece of paper, who actually owns the Silver/Gold? The answer is no one! When you purchase physical bullion from an online or physical store, you are the owner of that metal. No strings attached!

Now knowing this, there could be a shortage of the physical bullion from dealers. The U.S. Mint sold out of silver eagles in the beginning of March 2020. People are understanding on what can protect their wealth during a crisis outbreak and are flocking to get their hands on precious metals.

Since the Federal Reserve cut interest rates again, the price of precious metals are down significantly-making it more affordable to purchase Gold and Silver. This is a great opportunity to get more for your money before a market correction. Many people have begun doing this and maybe you should too.
