LIMITED MINTAGE OF 5,000! This 2017 1 oz. silver proof was issued by the Cook Islands. It features a Spider-Man: Homecoming design and is officially licensed by Marvel. The Mayer Mint struck this proof, mintage is limited to 5,000 pieces. The Spider-Man: Homecoming design is on the obverse. This is actually the work of John Mercanti, retired Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. His initials are below Spider-Man as he slings some web. The name of the film can be found at the top of the design. If you look near the bottom you can see the silver content and official Marvel copyright. The Proof finish is created using polished dies and planchets and is the highest quality finish in the world. The certification of Ultra Cameo (UC) recognizes the coin's outstanding differentiation between the stunning mirrored fields and the highly detailed frosted design elements.
