An incredibly detailed family of eagles is illustrated on the reverse; the male depicted in protective flight above his mate and young in a grassy field below. The image border bears the inscriptions "AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE," "2018 5 OZ .9999 SILVER" and the Mint mark "P."
The obverse depicts Ian Rank-Broadley's rendition of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by the legend "ELIZABETH II," "AUSTRALIA" and "8 DOLLARS."
This 2018-P Australia $8 High Relief Wedge-Tailed Eagle 5 oz. Silver Proof is graded a perfect Proof 70 by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). The coin is additionally designated Ultra Cameo (UC) for the remarkable degree of contrast between the mirrored surfaces and frosted details. The beautiful coin is specially presented in a NGC holder with an Australian Flag themed core accompanied by a coordinating flag design certification label hand signed by the coin's reverse designer, John Mercanti.
