The United States Mint authorized a run of bullion Silver Eagles to be struck at the San Francisco Mint in 2020 to help mitigate increased customer demand that is partially a result of production delays related to the Covid-19 pandemic. This certified coin is part of that run of Silver Eagles and Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) has certified that this coin was struck at the San Francisco branch mint, despite its lack of a mint mark, and that is qualifies for the grading service's Emergency Production pedigree. Iconic American Silver Eagle Design
Reverse: The reverse of this 2020-(S) American Silver Eagle features the original design that debuted on the American Silver Eagle series in 1986, which was design by numismatic legend John Mercanti. Mercanti worked at the United States Mint for a number of years and even served as Chief Engraver during the course of his career. The reverse features a Heraldic Eagle that clutches arrows in one talon, and an olive branch in the other. Obverse: The obverse bears a modified version of Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty Design which first appeared on the Walking Liberty Half dollar. Weinman is responsible for many iconic pieces of classic American coinage. On the obverse, Liberty strides across the face of the coin, one arm extended to the new day, as the other clutches oak and laurel branches. The year, "2020" appears on this face of the coin.
